another job well done!
i beat ff9 last night. but it hink i missed part of the ending, because there was a part where the psx kept trying to load, and couldnt, so i open the lib and cleaned off the cd ( earlier i had found food or soemthing on the disk, preventing it from loading an earlier part, and when i put the disk back in, it magically jumped to "the end" and there were no credits, nor did i ever hear the whole version of that song that they sing that i have on cd. so... I'll have to beat it again. i saw the first half of the ending, so that was nice. my favorite line was "no cloud nor squall shall hinder us." I also liked the FF1 boss refrence. Nick was really suprised that i figured it out.

now for FFX! or 8, i stopped playing that, and never beat it.
at this point I would say no, because it's really really boring. (especially if you dont know how to beat it.)

however, if you have a lot of time to kill fighting ogers over and over outside of elftown in order to get strong enough to go to the marsh cave, then it's an interesting game.

no, i take that back. it's really boring compared to any game past FF2j (which was not boring, just horribly flawed) so, if you want to see the game that started it all, you should play it, cause there are lots of refrences and off shoots to it in other ff games (the imps in ff4 for example.) I usually dont advocate cheat codes until you've already beaten the game, but you should find some infinate hp/gain levels quickly codes for game genie and emlate it if you want to play it. personally, I dont think i could sit through it again, but then again, I did beat several times (the first time it turnes out i picked one of the most difficult parties to use: fighter, black mage, white mage, red mage.) especially now that I barely have time to play something ast paced like ff9.

yeah... in ff9 the first ff1 boss has a different name than she did in ff1.
