I7m going to to a report on Arcades. so could someone (lauren) take pictures of the people and various things in an arerican arcade, so i can contrast them with pictures of japanese arcades. things that I7m looking at:
types of people at arcades
different types of games (fighting, ddr, shooting, typing, gambling, baseball...)
standing vs sitting
arrangement of multiplayer games (in japan you sit and each person gets their own screen and cant see the other person.)
non video game games (shooting gallery, racing games, pinball games, stupid psycich read things. thoes stupid crade things)
size of the buildings
atmosphere (do they decorate it, is it smoking allowed?
condition of consoules (does each game have its own marquee? are there the right number of buttons, or is there just some random used MKII consoul with puzzle bobble in it?)
social aspect (do people talk to each other ? are they friends or strangers? do people come in groups or by themselves? do they bring their girlfriends? are they happy looking? are they drunk and talking about korean pride?)
gender/age (what gender/ age plays what games?)
atarashi (are there mostly new games at the arcade? or do we have a choice of x-men vs street fighter and the simpsons game)

that:s the general outline for the reasearch. so if anyone has some time and a digital camera, could you take pictures of an american arcade (such as the boardwalk) capturing the essence of such things, and put them online some where? (I have a really strict firewall, so you wouldnt be able to IM them to me.) thank you. that is all.

i like the arrangement for the arcade for fighting games in japan. it's like that in korea too. i like it cause you don't have to fight for space on certain games that give you too little space to share with a fat guy. and asians smell funny so i wouldn't want to be smelling asians while playing either.

i wish i had a digital camera that worked so i could take pictures of people at the cal poly arcade. I was playing snk vs capcom 2 and this 5 year old and his mom came and started playing soul calibur. and he was yelling and screaming and his mom was being supportive. it was funny. and then there was a big crowd of nerds around marvel vs capcom 2 because people were actually playing against each other. i kept winning against the sucky guys with tron bonne pirate lady and dan, but i couldn't figure out dan's akuma move so i was sad. then some stupid guy came and used captain commando, juggernaut, and akuma. so i was like buh, i should just leave cause i know i'm going to lose. but i stayed and i lost, and i should've taken a picture of that guy too cause he was awesome looking. bleh time for physics.

konbanwa. watashi wa Dan Borkan desu. You need to Japan more/less... I just got back from England and I went to a few arcades there, which was real exciting cause I haven't been to arcades in a while so I got all excited over games that are probably years old. And they had that dancing game where you use both hands and feet, and some nerdy guy was playing it on like medium difficulty, but he was dancing like Micheal Jackson, and all kicking his feet up and twirling and such. Awesome. And then I played that Fist of the North Star game where you punch the pads, and I displayed my seikyo style for all the British babes... um, what exactly are you doing in japan? you need to tell me about it sometime.. enjoy yourself. peace.

Dan <~ give me all you 10p!!!!!
