This song has really grown on me!

I also really like Full Metal Alchemist. It's great Bubblegum Boy's anime. Similar to Trigun, except I think Trigun kinda fell apart towards the end. It is the highlight of my week to wake up and drink cofee and watch full metal and Ghost in the shell. two very good serises.

So Max is being put to sleep as I write this. I'm pretty sad. Actually i'm a lot of things. I am Glad that he's not Stumbling around the house half dead, meowing and starving. It's really frusterating to know that there's nothing that you can do.
I'm glad I wrote my Cats Journey book. I think it's funny that I wrote that almost exactly a year ago. I think I'm going to print it out through the iPhoto book printing system. Then I can put it on the coffee table. and people can read it. and be like, this is weird.
Maybe one day I will proof read it.
My room is cleaner than it's been in a while. I'm really getting a handle on my finances. I found out that I can track my Sales Tax, and then get a refund or a deduction. I got about $1100 back from taxes this year. I'm going to buy a new camera. and take pictures of action figures. yeah. I guess. I don't know what I'm going to do. Maybe I'm going to dwell on the fact that I don't have enough pictures of things in this desperate attempt to make everything permanent. I need to find a balance.
I guess I really like Anime, because the characters really have to work to win. They are constantly in an unstable balance between overcoming their hardships and over-embracing their hardships. It's not like american media where everything works out, and the only conflict comes from exterior sources. Even Dragon Ball Z, which is realitivly platonic has evidence of this. even though Goku is super strong and an awesome fighter he Dosen't want to fight, and he has to balance between the need to fight to save his friends and the earth, and fighting too much and losing his humanity.
That's why I hated superman. So boring, and I was jealous that he was perfect. Bleep bloop. but yeah. I mean, Alfonse gave up his body. Anything he does now, any thing he has that I others might be envious of is offset by the fact that he is not human. It's a lifelong, universal conflict. Nothing's easy for Anime Characters, and that makes them much more human.

yep.

I feel like a lot of things.

FLCL is cool cause it uses a lot of imagery and symbolism. I think the first time I watched it, I completely missed the part about the main guy being in love with the alien girl. And that completely changed how i percieved the series. Oh, and also having subtitles instead of just listening to them yelling in japanese helped too. There are lots of neat different ways you can interpret the series too which I think is cool. Giving the reader interpretive options is a really good way of making a story good. It's fun to watch the whole series with the mindset that the big iron is actually a crack factory and it's spitting crack fumes up in the air and that's why things go crazy whenever it releases the smoke. But also, the series was good because the way the writer meant it to be is well written. I think almost all the characters develop really well(at least the ones that are supposed to), and even the support characters have pretty in depth personalities.

I think American media and culture is too protective. You have to go to independent films or rare popular films to get a different mood or situation. Like Rocky. I think Rocky is the best American mainstream film ever made. It was revolutionary in that the hero was an insensitive and stupid jerk. And in the end, he loses the fight and loses his girl. But it wasn't like depressing or retarded. Actually I didn't really like the movie as much as I liked the ideas behind it.

I forgot what movie I was watching, but the ending was ridiculous. The story could've been so much better if they just let it end in a sad note or an open ended note. But they had to go OMG, everything is fine now, everyone is happy. Oh, it was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I mean, they could've ended it a little early and not have had the whole resolution thing at the end or ended it with a melancnholy overtone and it would've been a great movie. But it was only good because they just had to resolve everything and end it happily. I mean there were little parts of it where it's open ended, but for the most part everyone was like awww, we're happy and everything turned out as right as it could. I don't think stories need to be limited to that, and I don't believe in the old writer's law that the main character cannot die. Sometimes the main character just has to die like in FF9. If he died at the end, I wouldn't be so against FF9, but he didn't and it was all gay(in the happy term and the slang term). I don't know why the old Greek system of theatrics of tragedies and comedies has died out. Where have the tragedies gone? Why is it not acceptable anymore? Why do people insist on happy endings? I know people who hate movies cause the endings aren't super happy enough.

I think the reason some anime are so good is because they break the rules of popular story writing beliefs. Main characters can be more evil than good, they can die at the end, they can have personality traits that aren't admirable or something people will look up to.

I think L'arc en Ciel is a pretty good band. If I never saw a picture of them, I'd be more comfortable liking their music. This keyboard is retarded, it keeps putting in extra characters while I type.

Re: rocky
Thats why I liked 8-Mile cause at the end of the movie nothing really was resolved. He had to go back to work, and thats that but you don't really know what happends and life seems as it would continue just as normal even though he just owned the rap doods.
